| Jamie R. Thompson, President of Camelot Distribution Group, joined the company in September 2009. Mr. Thompson is responsible for the acquisition, sales and marketing of films in all stages from development to completion in both the domestic and international marketplace. Mr. Thompson has served as an Executive Producer on the feature films Samurai Avenger, Wiener Dog Nationals, Beneath the Blue, Last of the Living, Route 30, and The Fallen, and as Associate Producer on Burning Mussolini. Prior to joining Camelot, Mr. Thompson served as President of Distribution at Quantum Releasing from November 2006 until September 2009. During his tenure, he acquired 50 films and increased sales 300%. Mr. Thompson held the position of Director of International Sales and Acquisitions for American World Pictures from April 2006 until September 2006. At American World Pictures, Thompson was introduced to top global distributors and sold films with budgets up to $15 million. Before joining American World Pictures, Mr. Thompson began his career in distribution with MovieBank, which later became Quantum Releasing, in 2004. In November of 2004, Jamie was promoted to the position of Director of Sales where he became responsible for the foreign sales. Mr. Thompson also coordinated a theatrical release for Vlad starring Billy Zane and Brad Dourif in September 2004. During this time period, Mr. Thompson was mentored by Grant Raynham (Lonely Seal) and Pamela Vlastas (Concorde/New Horizons). Between 2000 and 2004, Mr. Thompson worked in production on music videos, commercials, and independent films for Comedy Central, DreamWorks, ABC, Touchstone Pictures, A&E, and independent producers. Prior to working in the entertainment industry, Thompson spent eight years at Airborne Express as Operations Manager for the company’s Grand Rapids, Michigan and later the Los Angeles, California locations managing over sixty employees. Thompson attended Grand Valley State University with a focus on film studies. |
